This is reflected in the colors, designs and fashionable cuts of today's sports clothing.  Still, in sport it is the function and materials that are most crucial – design on its own is not enough. A high degree of functionality is as sought-after as a contemporary look.

The CONTEST Special Edition for spring/summer 2012
For spring/summer 2012 GORE BIKE WEAR® is for the first time presenting a Special Edition of its popular CONTEST family. This selected edition skilfully combines a high level of functionality with a contemporary new design. Ergonomic cuts and selection and development of excellent materials and processing techniques guarantee cyclists not only a desirable appearance, but also optimum moisture management and a high degree of comfort.

The 3-part back pocket of the CONTEST Special Edition (SE) Jersey (for men and women) offers the right amount of storage space, and has a slanted opening to allow easier access when cycling. Efficient ventilation is guaranteed by the full-length zip on the front of the jersey. The CONTEST SE Bibtights short+ for men and the CONTEST LADY Tights short+ for women are available in colours to match the jerseys. Both the men's and the women's tights have gender-specific CONTEST seat padding, which has been developed to guarantee comfort, performance and protection.

Like all the other components of the CONTEST family, the CONTEST Special Edition products have been developed and designed in such a way as to perfectly match and complement each other both visually and functionally – the entire outfit system offers more than just the sum of its parts. Depending on preferences and weather conditions cyclists can put together their ideal outfit from head to toe and skin to shell, and concentrate on enjoying the ride.

For optimum climate regulation and maximum comfort, the GORE BIKE WEAR® BASE LAYER products can be used as the first layer of the skin-to-shell and head-to-toe outfit system, and can be combined with all CONTEST SE products.
