GORE BIKE WEAR™ adds BASELAYER line

The products in the BASELAYER line sit like a second skin, complementing the skin-to-shell designs of GORE BIKE WEAR™. For the cyclist, the new BASELAYER products deliver an additional level of comfort by ensuring the garment feels dry and comfortable against the skin. The line comprises shirts, singlets and shorts for both men and women, with or without a WINDSTOPPER® liner. The design is simple and functional.

The secret lies in the material
Polypropylene forms the basis for all the products in the BASELAYER line. The fabric's special properties make it valuable: it is the lightest fiber in the world, it feels comfortable on the skin and its antibacterial properties reduce the formation of body odour.

Since the polypropylene does not absorb it, moisture is immediately passed through to the layer worn above. The result is a completely dry base layer that lies comfortably against the skin and which helps to prevent the loss of body heat.

Perfectly equipped for all climate conditions
The BASELAYER products are available in two different versions. The functional polypropylene singlet, shirts and shorts are ideal in warmer temperatures, and for windy, cooler days a windproof, breathable WINDSTOPPER® liner is added to the collection. The result is an extremely light and versatile combination, ensuring rapid moisture wicking and protection against the body cooling down from the cyclist's headwind.

A comprehensive clothing system
The different products from GORE BIKE WEAR™ fit together like the pieces of a puzzle to create a comprehensive clothing system. There are already products to cover the rider from head to toe. But, by extending the collection to include BASELAYER products, a complete skin-to-shell range is now available for the cyclist. All GORE BIKE WEAR™ products combine perfectly with one another in terms of both cut and fit, and the composition of materials.

BASELAYER Shorts with seat pad
BASELAYER Shorts feature the CONTEST seat pad from Elastic Interface. It is elastic and breathable, and adapts itself to the cyclist's movements. It is suitable for short to medium distances, and in combination with over pants.

In the women's version, the CONTEST LADY seat pad has been specially contoured to the female form. The padding has been reinforced at certain points to allow for the slightly wider sit bones in women. This ensures the pressure is ideally distributed, and prevents the development of any painful seat problems. Both versions feature an elastic band that sits comfortably on the skin.
