With the XENON family to new levels of peak performance

For spring/summer 2012 the XENON family has been completely revised, and it now boasts new design, top materials, improved cuts and even better-matching products. The new XENON line provides the perfect outfit for all weather conditions, for both women and men. In close collaboration with experienced athletes Gore's product developers have further optimised the tried-and-tested outfit principles of Head to Toe and Skin to Shell, and have developed the XENON family in such a way that combinations of the individual components work as a system – the XENON Bike System - in terms of function, design and fit. Regardless of whether the sun or the asphalt are sizzling hot, rain showers are visible on the horizon or a strong wind is blowing on a mountain pass, with the products and accessories of the XENON family, road bikers will find the right clothing system for all weathers and temperatures. And the outfits are more than just the sum of their individual parts – together they form a unit that allows even greater comfort and better performance when cycling.

Important characteristics of the XENON line are the design and the aerodynamic cut of all XENON products. They are perfectly tailored to the anatomy and movement of the body in the racing position, and they benefit from carefully selected textiles and innovative processing techniques such as Ultrasonic seams. The spring/summer 2012 products will for the first time see Ultrasonic seams incorporated into selected jerseys and tights. They are flatter than normal seams, as they are welded, rather than conventionally sewn. This complicated technique minimises friction on the skin and thus ensures greater comfort while decreasing garment weight. Further essential characteristics are a high level of breathability, a small volume when packed and contemporary 360° reflective prints that ensure excellent visibility in traffic.

coldblack® Finish:
A further new feature is the use of coldblack® materials in the XENON family's colourway 'black'. coldblack® is a new finish for dark textiles that reflects sunlight and is non-absorbent. Black clothing thus remains noticeably cooler and offers reliable UV protection (minimum UPF 30). Even in direct sunlight you sweat less when cycling and benefit from the XENON coldblack® products' efficient temperature management.

Down to the smallest detail every product in the XENON line is performance-oriented and is optimally harmonised with the other parts of the product family. Depending on the weather conditions, road cyclists can select the ideal combination from the wide range of XENON products. On hot, dry days the breathable singlet and the short bibtights are ideal, whilst during transitional periods you can wear a GORE BIKE WEAR® BASE LAYER singlet under your jersey and a light WINDSTOPPER® jacket over it. The pride of the XENON line: the new short-sleeved XENON GT AS Jacket
The XENON GT AS Jacket short combines all the characteristics of the XENON family and is the perfect weatherproofing for performance-oriented racing cyclists who demand maximum performance of themselves and of their material. Thanks to the ultralight GORE-TEX® Active Shell, the jacket is guaranteed waterproof, feels pleasant against the skin and is extremely breathable. Even on steep mountain passes it provides protection in bad weather, without causing the cyclist to overheat. The short sleeves cover the cyclist's arms only to the length of the short-sleeved jersey, thereby saving unnecessary weight. Thus the cold-sensitive upper part of the cyclist's body is protected against wind, rain and water splashes, whilst the jacket remains ultralight, and is small when packed. The ergonomically and aerodynamically cut jacket fits skin-tight, thus allowing even better performance with less effort – i.e. even more enjoyment on the asphalt. 360° reflector prints increase visibility in traffic.
